The Physical Infrastructure Department supports relevant ministries in the reconstruction of schools, community centers and other public buildings and seeks to enhance preventative maintenance, as well as implement maintenance management systems for buildings, roads and bridges.

Institutional strengthening is focused on the Ministry of Communications, Works and Transport and the Physical Planning Unit of the Ministry of Finance and Planning. The Department also assists in enhancing skills training and improving standards in construction work.
